Crazy People

Ever notice how God’s people in the Bible are often thought to be, well,

a little off?

a few cards short of a full deck?

a couple pancakes short of a stack?

Well, I’m thinking this might be some sort of off handed, unintended, maybe even mean spirited compliment. So, to all of you who think my faith and view of God is ludicrous…

Thank you!

And I mean it from the bottom of my nutty heart!

I’m starting to see God moving in greater and greater ways than I ever imagined before!

What if we put up several multisites a year?

In every theater?

In every school?

In every upfitted building?

And each one was crazier for the mission to reach the lost than the last?!

WOW!

Do you ever dream with me? If you do, don’t worry. You might just be crazy like a fox!

Turns out you and I would be in good company by the way. Check these verses out,

Israel, the time has come. You will get what you deserve, and you will know it. ” Prophets are fools,” you say. ” And God’s messengers are crazy.” Your terrible guilt has filled you with hatred. Hosea 9:7

and even the very best company…

48The Jews then said, “That clinches it. We were right all along when we called you a Samaritan and said you were crazy…”

49-51Jesus said, “I’m not crazy. I simply honor my Father, while you dishonor me. I am not trying to get anything for myself. God intends something gloriously grand here and is making the decisions that will bring it about. I say this with absolute confidence. If you practice what I’m telling you, you’ll never have to look death in the face.”  John 8:48–50

and,

“…At this point the Jews said, “Now we know you’re crazy. Abraham died. The prophets died. And you show up saying, ‘If you practice what I’m telling you, you’ll never have to face death, not even a taste.’ Are you greater than Abraham, who died? And the prophets died! Who do you think you are!” John 8:52

Truth is, even His own family thought He was crazy at first.

So dream big for God and let’m call you crazy from the bleachers. What’s really crazy is spending your whole life in the nose bleed section calling everyone out on the field, crazy!

CIMG2670They say a picture is worth a thousand words.

Well here’s about a thousand of them.

Ok, not that many, but you get the picture (no pun intended)!

Celebrate with me as we inch closer to the grand opening of our new facility!

We should be in around, “Back to School” time (late August – early Sept.).

Now Way! You say. Well, remember, much of this building has been constructed ‘off-site,’ therefore, the outside will be DONE in a few weeks and the next several months will be dedicated to the inside.

Easier to picture now?

Good.

Here are some more pictures.

Enjoy!

CIMG2654Have you seen the progress on our new building?! This thing is going up at light speed! And not a moment too soon. The increase in crowds has gone on ever since Easter and shows no signs of letting up.

The building might help motivate but I don’t think that’s it.

I think it’s life change.

Everyone knows that people who only have a short time to live have amazing clarity with which they see life and live life. It’s a clarity and zest for life we all wish we could have without the “bad news.”

Well, here’s the good news. We can! And many folks are grabbing hold of this as we come to the end of our “One Month to Live” series this weekend with a powerful message you will want to bring everyone you can to hear!

And next week we will celebrate what God is doing in my very favorite way. You’ll have to join us both weekends to see.

That’s it for now.

Keep living like you’re dying!

PS Many of you asked about the gentleman on the video last weekend (Larry). Some of you wanted to know how you could pray for him, his family, etc. Well, it is with mixed emotions that I tell you all that Larry went home to be with Jesus about a month after filming the videos we all saw. Mixed emotions because, on the one hand we can celebrate his new body and the fact that he is with Jesus and in no more pain. In fact, he is happier than ever!

On the other hand, those he leaves behind have lost (for a time) a wonderful father, husband and child of God. It is for them we grieve. Please keep Larry’s wife and children in your prayers as they continue serving Jesus without him.

“Thank you, Larry, for being such an inspiration to the people of Southbrook!”
