I would say that if I knew I was dying I would be scared but that I would focus on being brave for my family and spending every waking moment with them. I thought it was interesting that the other night I had a very realistic dream that my daughter and I were in a plane and it was going down. I knew we were going to die but I wasn't scared at all....AT ALL. I turned to my daughter and said 'ok baby, remember when you meet Jesus to hold your arms out wide and greet him with a big smile'. I guess that's where my head and heart really are at when it comes to thoughts of dying.
My challenge is learning to do this in life.

Well I struggle with this one. The reason is, I think of things that I would do if I only had 30 days to live and then as soon as I think of something, I think "Well, how come you are not doing that now?" Why do I have to hear that I only have 30 days to live to start doing things that I always thought about but never got around to it. Of course, thinking this, will that change how I am doing things today, I would like to think so but in reality without given that since of urgency/time limit...life seems to continue has it always does.

I did hear about a woman who once videotaped messages for her children has they reached certain turning points in their life that they have her advice. I think i would definately do that so they do have some of mom's advice even though she wasn't there physically holding their hand through it.

I do hope this series will show me that I do not have to receive a deadline to get my butt in gear to get some stuff done in my life that I know needs attending to!

Pastor Rob,
I've thought about this a lot during the past week. My cousin (more like a brother) was killed last Wednesday night in a freak motorcycle accident. He left behind a beautiful daughter and a wonderful wife. Problem was - he had not been a very good father or husband for the past few years. I'm sure if he knew last Wednesday that it was his last day to live he would have changed a lot of things. His funeral was extremely sad and I don't think he would have ever guessed how many people loved him. It really made me start thinking about my own life, my family and friends. We spend so much time worrying and fretting over petty stuff but when it all comes to the end none of that means anything. If all of us would spend more time loving each other instead of fighting each other we would all be much happier. His death prompted me to forgive someone that I had held a grudge over for quite some time now. It was like a weight was lifted off of my shoulders and I truly understand the meaning of forgiveness now. I still don't know what I would do if I were told I only had a month to live. I hope I would not curl up in a ball and go into self-pity mode. I hope I would spend my last days on earth praising the Lord, loving my family, forgiving my enemies and maybe even sky-diving :)

Well Rob, as you know I am not one of those perfectly heathly people, but as I have come close many times to meeting Christ, I continue to ask Him what it is He has for me to do here on Earth. I know it is something Big and ready for the challenge! If I had the privilege to know I had a whole Month to live, I would finish the work God put me hear to do. Tell others about Him and what he has done in my life, like Kitty I would prepare my children and make sure everyone knew that I was ready and excited about meeting God face to face and walking the streets of gold!

Seeing as how none of us are guaranteed a "day", knowing that we would have a whole month to live would be a blessing, don't you think?

I was telling Jay Foreman on one of his pages that the least of my worries would be me. I would be the one heading home! I'd use every moment of my time to prepare my precious children for the incredible journey the Lord would be taking them on and doing what I can to make sure they have a safety net of Christ loving Southbrook centered families around them so that can tackle life confidently without me.

OK, Rob I knew this would be coming. I have been thinking alot about this since you
let us know that this series was starting. One month to live! WOW, I still can't grasp those words. I'm 35 a wife, and mother of two boys. Became a true Christ follower about 4 years ago because of Southbrook. Don't think he is done with me yet, but I know you want a answer. I'm still kinda lost for words. I would spend as much time with my family and friends as possible. Take lots of pictures, make home video's for my children to remember me. Definitly let go of silly daily worries, house cleaning, yard work, and money.
In my relationship with the Lord, I always thank him for another day of life to do his glory. In
your last post you showed scripture that showed how Christ knew from day one of his plan.
I honestly am still working with God in learning mine. It is a every day experience. I would have to remember that he is in control, I'm not that his was his plan for me. I know that I'm his child, he knew what was best for me the day he created me. Boy, this is hard.
