The End of “Planet Earth!”

What an incredible series for God!

Planet Earth is over now; however, like global warming, we’ll be feeling the effects for some time to come. Unlike global warming ALL of these effects are real and ALL of these effects are good!

The week before the series began we saw 116 people come to Christ as Clayton King shared the gospel. Before that, although sad and tragic, we saw God bring good from pain as 94 people came to Christ during the memorials services of Todd Hage and Tom Hinkle. In this series we’ve just wrapped up, another 86 individuals bent the knee to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and, as the Bible says here, passed from death unto life!

God is moving in tremendous ways at SCC. That’s 266 former hellbounders in the last 7 weeks who are now a part of the family of God!

AWESOME!

So what’s next? Are we going to Disneyworld?

Nope, better. We’re going to IGNITE Charlotte, Weddington, Mecklenburg County, Union County and beyond for Jesus Christ. Are you ready for this? Because we need YOU in this series as well. Everyone will be a part of Ignite and that will make the impact that much greater.

So, on the one hand, I’m sad that ‘Planet Earth’ is over, on the other hand, I can hardly wait to see God Ignite this church to reach the world!

One last time, as we remember Planet Earth, here are the 2 videos from this past weekend;

The ‘Forbidden Fruit.’

And the, ‘Family Vacation’ video.

    Whatever happened to the building that was supposed to be up by now? I’m just asking because with 266 more people coming to Southbrook (which is awesome) where are they going to sit and where are their children going to go to sunday school?

    The sports fields are great, but what about room for everyone on Saturday and Sunday?

    Good question, ‘confused.’

    The building was set back over 5 months by the Wesley Chapel ETJ restrictions (restrictions on any new construction or changes in existing construction without the Wesley Chapel City Council’s approval).

    Everything is a go now, and you should see dirt moving within the next 2 weeks!

    Thanks for your questions.

    Rob,

    I am amazed at how God is moving in our church. I hope I never take for granted that people need to accept Christ….and people keep coming to Christ. I weep when I see people change from the kingdom of darkness to Kingdom of Light. Your sermons have been wonderful! My family has been visting for the past three months….It has been great….we were actually on our way to another church…yet we were late and decided to give Southbrook a try…..I am very glad that we did…..Two weeks ago….we decided to do the 10:00 service….no room for one of my kids…..at first I was a little peeved…then I realized it is not about me……it should be…but it is not….:) So, we hit the donuts at the nearby grocery store and made it back by the 11:30…All that to say….Your teaching style and my learning style really match….plus I have a few seminary degrees and I am able to really enjoy your sermons…..that means you are hitting at all levels…..I am almost totally over seminary and I can now love Jesus again……so, thanks for preaching to the lost…..saved…both on their way to God…..I hope you never really care whether I enjoy your sermons or not….I have found that you preach whatever the Father reveals to you…..that is great freedom in Christ…..Thanks for your honesty and teaching as Jesus did….standing….sitting, laughing…..serious……but always kind and for our betterment…
